Incantation and dance for solo clarinet begins with a declamatory gesture before slow mysterious phrases set up the atavistic character of the dance. The wild and pagan section nature of this work uses the full range of the instrument to great effects. It's terrific fun to play and a winner with audiences. A very welcome addition to the solo clarinet repertoire.
